This mixtape is an homage to one of our favorite genres these days — synthwave. This 27-track musical journey starts off with a favorite composer in the space, Cliff Martinez, who has been carving out his own musical niche for years along with repeat collaborator, director Nicolas Winding Refn. Then we dive into an almost 2-hour journey through the genre and its many emotive themes until we end with Sami Matar’s “Bullet Stopper Child”, a powerful name to match a powerful ending track. There are several more movie quotes scattered about through this mix to add on to the experience and help tell the tale of ‘Neon Daemons’. We hope you enjoy figuring out the quotes and their respective movies as you listen. There are some fun moments for movie fans and the mix is chock full of epic synthwave tracks.
