AR002: Offworld Lullabies
This mixtape is an homage to the Blade Runner mythos with a sci-fi/futuristic-focused theme. Blade Runner is my favorite film and the newer sequel Blade Runner 2049 is in my top 10. I love the topics covered in these adaptations from Phillip K. Dick's novel, Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep. I'm also a big fan of cyberpunk and the visual styling of both films has made an impact on not only myself but so many artists over the years.
The musical journey starts off more energetic then gets more and more chill as it goes along similarly to moving in and out of the dream state until finally drifting off to a deep sleep state with some beautiful ambient at the end. The journey is comprised of three acts that focus on the arc from torment to acceptance to peace. As I began working on this project I realized how very personal this story was that reflected my own aspects to this journey as well as our journey in life as artists and as humans. There are some wonderful quotes that were pulled together to accent the journey and will hopefully add to the fun of listening. Can you pick out where they are from? The artwork used in the design of the cover art is by the cyberpunk artist: @Dangiuz. Thank you for the amazing art you create!
